To ensure the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta meets donors' philanthropic goals, as well as the current and emerging needs of the community, the Foundation offers a variety of fund types to donors.  Donors are able to have as little or as much involvement in the grant application process and granting decisions as they desire.   We offer individual donors, family foundations, businesses and charities a variety of choices that provide flexibility, security, growth, longevity and relevance for each charitable investment.

Tribute and Memorial Funds

Created to commemorate a person, family or important event, these funds can be
established as any type of the foundation endowment funds.  Named memorial
funds may be established for a minimum of $1000 as part of the Community
Impact Funds or within the Field of Interest Funds.  Memorial tributes of any size
are also welcomed as part of the Community Caring Fund.  This fund provides
income for the community impact grants program.
Unrestricted Funds

You can use your gift to meet ever-changing community needs - including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. We receive project proposals in all areas of community well-being - arts and culture, education, environment, health and social services, youth, and more. The flexibility of your unrestricted gift makes it possible to respond to the community's most pressing needs,  today and tomorrow.  Grant proposals are received, evaluated and awarded annually as part of the Community Impact Grant Program.

There are three types of unrestricted funds, general community funds, field of interest funds and administrative support funds.
