The Buck Starts Here 2010 Funding Conference has been generously assisted by Alberta Employment and Immigration in support of the initiative A Workforce Strategy for Alberta’s Non-Profit and Volunteer Sector. The conference is a volunteer effort and is only possible through the support of a voluntary organizing committee: Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta (George Hall, Gen Richards); the Lethbridge Community Network (Jim Campbell); Galt Museum and Archives (Susan Burrows-Johnson); Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation (Debra Ramage) and Volunteer Lethbridge (Laurie Ruff). The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta initiated this partnership and appreciates the support of the committee.

There is a continually demonstrated need for public access to information technology and the Internet in Lethbridge. By forming a strong network that is coordinated and supported by an incorporated not-for-profit society in Lethbridge, the 32 public access sites will support the public in accessing essential government, health, education, and employment information. Information Technology [IT] training and education are offered to community residents through a combined partnership between the LCN, it's volunteers and the Lethbridge Public Library. Together we have created an Information Literacy Centre that provides training and skill development to individuals wishing to develop these essential skills and resources.  Learn More...
